One to one online tuition from Dr Alex Moseley

I have vast educational experience enabling students of all abilities and dreams to grow in confidence and walk the path to success.

I have enabled students to get into the university of their choice, get into college, pass required exams, and generally make more sense and get more fun out of their learning.

Prior to tutoring, I gained professional experience at all levels of educaiton from senior school to being a university tutor and lecturer.

I have also mentored and taught many tutors over the years - many of whom went on to create sustainable and long term businesses.

Among several publications (books and articles), I have also written two books on the educational philosophiies of John Locke and Aristotle and have been interviewed on local and national radio.

But put all that aside I'm pretty much a down to earth person, very approachable, and I love getting the best out of young people - I'm humorous and encouraging, senstive to students'  needs and ambitions, and I enjoy seeing people develop and gain confidence in what they need and helping them get onto the path of fourishing rather than languishing!

My passion is getting the best out of my pupils with bespoke, tailor-made methods.

REGULAR ONE TO ONE TUITION ONLINE

After running a successful face to face tuition company for 16 years in the East Midlands, life took me further afield and in 2016 I moved over to online tutoring, way before the lockdowns.

Most pupils find online tuition enjoyable, and parents find it much easier to manage of course - no travel, no waiting around for an hour. A few pupils do need face-to-face contact, which I fully understand, hence I always arrange a free consultation to see if the online service would work or not.

For pre-GCSE and GCSE I can cover a range of subjects -

Maths,

English,

Literature,

History,

Sciences,

And top-ups for various other subjects including French, German, RE, etc.

A-levels:

I have extensive experience tutoring the following subjects:

Economics

Business Studies

Psychology

English Literature

History

Philosophy

Geography

Sociology

Sports

Undergraduate:

I have taught the following as a lecturer at university and/or as a tutor to individuals:

Economics

Philosophy

Politics

International Relations

Prices for weekly tuition are £38 per hour for any level of learning and spaces are very limited.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF INVESTING IN REGULAR TUITION, I ALWAYS DO A FREE CONSULTATION - please email to arrange for a chat.

CONFIDENCE BOOSTING ONE-OFF SESSIONS

Sometimes a student at university or 6th form needs a session or regular reviews of what they need to be doing or to grasp course content. The adult level of education post-16 is quite complex - subject vocabulary and exam requirements increase and students can easily feel overwhelmed, preferring to avoid the proper engagement that their courses require.

For two decades, I have assisted students in many disciplines gain confidence in learning so they get the most out of their higher education - reviewing fundamental skills, showing how to get an overview, helping students understand how to write essays or answer questions, and encouraging a conversation on their foreseeable direction in life .

Along with regular students going through the system, I have helped mature students, those on teacher training courses, law and business students, and applicants for the public services including for the Royal Marines and its officer corps!

NB I do not write essays for students- but I can help you to help yourself though!

The world's great - and opportunities abound, let's see if we can get your motivation going!

UNDERGRADUATES

Similarly, if you're an undergraduate hitting the wall or scared of the next move - I've worked with many like yourself - and postgraduates too - helping them get a sense of direction and purpose in life.

MATURE STUDENTS

Or are you a mature student returning to learning after a break? I have helped many students return to learning - or learn the things they never did get first time around!

I love unravelling the confusions and the fears that we have as we approach 'the end of schooling...' or a return to higher education!

I can offer a one off session (one hour) or regular mentoring to suit.

HOME SCHOOLING?

Parents are similarly becoming frustrated with not knowing their children's requirements or how to create routines of learning - especially if they are struggling to help with school work at home or continuing to home educate in the wake of lockdown policies.

HOME EDUCATING OR SCHOOLING

My wife and I have home educated our children from day 1 - and for over twenty years, we have both acted as advisers and tutors to home educating families as well as engaged in one to one tuition to help enthuse a home-schooled pupil.

We know the ups and the downs - we've lived with them, helped other parents through them, and know how to create an adaptive system for children to flourish.

We can offer single sessions outlining the expectations of home schooling and home educating as well as point you in the direction of resources and things to do and avoid e.g., getting stressed!

I can also offer regular academic tuition to help the maturing pupil transition to public exam requirements, when they are on the horizon, or just a sense of direction in the complexity of learning in the contemporary world.

It's always a pleasure to help families create their own roadmap for their children's learning.

Safeguarding pupils

I take safe-guarding concerns seriously; while online tuition is apparently safer than face to face, it is also critical that tutors maintain DBS requirements to give parents and clients peace of mind.  I am a member of the professional TTA (The Tutorial Association), which has a strong ethical and legal standards for its members,

Current DBS provisions - local school I have a short term contract with (2022-23 Summer), Ukrainian Host Family, and as a British Judo Association Level 2 coach, I am also obliged to maintain a separate DBS and maintain updated safeguarding and First Aid courses.
